How it works

A small discovery. A story you can be part of.

An Ember is a music or video link someone thought was worth sharing. You meet it one at a time, then help it find its next person.

1. Sign in and choose a direction

Use your email to receive a sign-in code. Choose a username for your journeys. On Discover, choose a type, a mood, or leave the filters open to see what finds you. Emberfloat is for people 13 and older.

2. Catch an Ember

Catching reserves an available Ember for you for 30 minutes. Open the original song or video, or tap play when an embedded player is available. Media does not start playing automatically.

3. Save what you want to revisit

Save a link to your private Saved collection. Saving does not extend the 30-minute reservation or download the original media.

4. Add a thought and pass it on

Leave an optional note or reaction and choose Pass & Finish. The Ember becomes available to another person, carrying its journey onward. If the reservation expires, it becomes available again without counting a new handoff.

5. Send a discovery of your own

Share a supported HTTPS media link, add a title, type, mood, and personal note, then send it into the pool. You can revisit journeys you started or contributed to. Journeys archive after 1,000 completed handoffs.

Keep the experience kind

Use the menu on an Ember or note to report a concern or block its author. Read the community rules before sharing. Your account settings also provide data export and permanent deletion.
