What is Emberfloat?
Emberfloat is a place to discover music and videos shared by other people. Catch one discovery at a time, save the link if you love it, and pass it along with an optional personal note. Learn more in how it works.
Which platforms are supported?
Emberfloat supports recognized links from YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud, Apple Music, Vimeo, TikTok videos, and Instagram Reels. Use a public link to the original media. Some provider share links need to be resolved to the full link before sending.
Do I need an account?
You can read these pages without an account. Catching, saving, sending, and viewing journeys require sign-in with an email code. Use an email address you control and the same address when you return. There is no public shared password.
Does Emberfloat cost anything?
This version has no paid plans or in-app purchases. Original media providers may require their own accounts or subscriptions.
Why will a song or video not play?
The original provider controls playback, regional rights, embedding, and availability. Private, deleted, restricted, or subscription-only media may not play inside Emberfloat. Try the original-link button to open the provider. Emberfloat does not host or download the original media.
What happens after 30 minutes?
A catch holds an Ember for 30 minutes. Pass it when you are finished, or it becomes available again when the hold expires. Expiry does not count as a completed handoff. A saved link remains in your Saved collection while its Ember remains available in the service.
Can anyone see my saved links?
Saved links are private to your account in the app. Your username, public sender profile, shared notes, and journey activity can be visible to signed-in people. Journey links require sign-in too. The privacy policy explains what is stored and shared.
Are there iPhone and Android apps?
The web version is available now on a phone or computer. You can add it to your home screen using your browser. Native iPhone and Android apps are being prepared; they are not available in the app stores yet.
How do I report content or delete my account?
Use the menu on an Ember or note to report it or block its author. Account → Preferences → Account data offers export and permanent deletion. If you cannot enter the app, use account deletion to verify ownership. Contact support for help.
